In His Steps: Pathways to Peace

Christy Reiners is the Executive Director of IHS, an organization that seeks to improve the lives of Palestinian communities by dealing with important healthcare concerns. It fosters cooperative relationships between indigenous Palestinian doctors, nurses and other medical personnel with American Medical Centers. The current focus of IHS is to address growing incidence of cancer through appropriate treatments with cultural sensitivity.

Ms. Reiners will offer us her insights into how effective humanitarian assistance is carried out by building trusting relationships, understanding the local culture, finding available resources and recognizing the challenges faced by the local community.

Ms. Reiners is from Lennox, South Dakota. After completing her college in Sioux Falls, she became involved in mission work in Brazil. When she was elected an elder from San Fransisco Presbytery, she visited the Holy Land. Since 2000, she has lived in Bethlehem and worked with various peace organizations to visit and understand the situation first hand.

Thank you for renewing your membership at the last Forum. Your support is very valuable and enables us to continue our work. We look forward to seeing you again.
